Why apply for .iwi.nz

In the first instance InternetNZ made the name a moderated name when .iwi.nz was first created by InternetNZ and goverment.

Presently it protects Iwi from other individuals using your Iwi name for other purposes or from purchasing your Iwi name in the .iwi.nz area and offering to sell it back at huge inflated prices, directing it to distasteful websites and much more.

My time as moderator i have had a number of companies and individuals apply for Iwi names for their security firms, racist web sites etc.
